2014-03-30-navaratri

Vedic festival “Navaratri” begins October 1, 2016. “Navaratri” lasts nine days and nine nights (from 1 – 10 October 2016). Tenth day ‘Dasara’, considered to be the most significant since symbolizes the victory of light over darkness, of the divine over the demonic. During the 9 days of ‘Navratri’ Mother is worshiped in her three forms: Durga (Kali), Lakshmi and Saraswati.

Durga (Kali) – in this way the mother is manifested in the aspect of destruction and transformation. The first three days of Navaratri  ( October 1-3), this time the destruction of the old.
Lakshmi – The Divine Mother manifests aspect of prosperity, satisfaction derived from worldly or spiritual life. (October 4-6 )
Saraswati – in this incarnation of Mother appears as the giver of knowledge, wisdom, the fruit of self-exploration and self-denial (7-9 October 7-9)
How significant these days with the position of Vedic Astrology? These days are setting “mood” for the next six months.

The first three days “Navaratri” are associated with Durga – the universe is dominated by the energy of purification and forgiveness. Our energy is renewed in these three days, purified and transformed. We can pray to Motherly aspect of Absolute for purification and removing the obstacles on the spiritual path.

The next three days connected with Lakshmi. During these three days, we are filled with new energy, we accumulate it. Here we can pray to be of service to Lord and His children.

The last three days are dedicated to Saraswati -is  the goddess of knowledge, she gives us the wisdom and understanding how to use the energy for the good of everyone. On these we can pray about meeting  with bonafide spiritual master and about association of elevated souls.

On the last day of Navaratri, we should get the inspiration  for a better, more spiritual life. We can say that during these days, we get “the charge of light” that helps us to overcome our  inner demons of selfishness, pride, greed, anger, and so on.
